California Quail scoot around the nine acres where Nicholson Blown Glass has resided since 1980. These popular local birds inspired Rick and Janet to capture their quirky personalities in glass. Rick was challenged by Karen Willenbrink-Johnsen, Jasen Johnsen and Pino Signoretto to improve his hot sculpting technique. His new skills combined with Janet's powder designs have allowed the development of this new series. Hand forged steel created in their studio complete the legs and base. Each one is unique.
